Teams

Teams provide an organizational layer within your Viduli organization, allowing you to group cloud projects based on product focus areas, development teams, or any logical structure that fits your workflow. This grouping system helps maintain clear boundaries between different initiatives while keeping related projects together for easier management.

Each team can contain multiple projects, creating a hierarchical structure that scales from small startups to large enterprises. This flexibility allows you to organize your cloud infrastructure in a way that mirrors your actual team structure and development processes.

Teams are identified by a unique name within your organization, ensuring clear identification and preventing conflicts. Additionally, each team has a display label that appears throughout the console interface, providing a user-friendly way to navigate between different team contexts.

Creating and maintaining teams is completely free - there are no costs associated with team creation or management, allowing you to organize your projects without worrying about additional charges.

Creating a Team

Team creation is integrated into your Viduli onboarding process to get you started quickly. To create a new team:

  1. During onboarding: You'll be prompted to create your first team as part of the initial setup
  2. After onboarding: Navigate to the organization page and click Create a Team
  3. Enter a team name and display label
  4. Click Create to establish your new team

Naming tip: If you're unsure what to name your first team, consider using main or core as simple, effective starting points.

Team Settings

Team settings allow you to manage your team's configuration and monitor its resource usage. To access team settings:

  1. Select your team in the console
  2. Click the settings icon in the top-left corner next to the team name
  3. This opens the team settings page with two main tabs: General and Costs

In the General tab, you can view both the team name and display label. Note that while the team name is permanent once created, you can update the display label to better reflect your team's current focus or branding needs.

Team Costs

The Costs tab provides comprehensive visibility into your team's resource spending and helps you track expenses across projects. This section displays:

  • Current billing cycle: Accrued costs broken down by each project within the team
  • Historical data: Costs from previous billing cycles for trend analysis

This cost visibility helps you monitor spending patterns, optimize resource usage, and maintain budget awareness across your team's projects.

Deleting a Team

When you no longer need a team, you can permanently delete it through the team settings. To delete a team:

  1. Navigate to the team settings page
  2. Go to the General tab
  3. Click the Delete Team button
  4. Re-enter the team name to confirm deletion
  5. Click Confirm to permanently delete the team

Important: You must delete all projects within a team before the team itself can be deleted. This ensures that no active resources are accidentally removed.
